Marcus Maria Jung was born in 1967 in Germany. He completed his studies of carpentry, sculpting and furniture design in Europe. Jung's sculptural work embodies the ancient and sacred relationship between the human spirit and the natural world. His work has been exhibited in Germany, France and California. His work includes public installations like the 'Circle of Elders', which he created for the 2011 Eco Arts Walk in Lake County, and the 'Circle of Fire', an installation and social sculpture that was exhibited March 2013 in Malibu. The artist currently lives and works in Los Angeles and northern California, where he works in his studio amongst trees.
'My artwork emerges from a conversation, a poetic exchange that happens while I listen to the language of stillness that emanates from the soul of trees and nature itself. Creating art as a practice to experience a sacred relationship with the natural world and the human spirit is the core theme and continuous exploration in my work as an artist.' - Marcus Maria Jung
