Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, James Johnson recently moved to Los Angeles. The density and design of LA being quite different than the slower, tighter-knit sensibilities of the South is the subject of his recent work. Using reclaimed materials as a base, James explores scale, contextual consumerism, and the city’s immense infrastructure that has almost become invisible to our eyes. Ultimately, exploring the role of the individual within this collective society.
